An Internet security company 'F-Secure' in its newly conducted research finds that scareware distributors have decided to create over 60 websites, which potentially host numerous search matches of trending and current subjects. The purpose of these websites is to install more malicious software on computers indiscriminately.

According to security researchers, they have just uncovered a phony antivirus program called "Security Essentials 2010." Apparently, the perpetrators copied insignificant parts of a real Microsoft security program so that they could make their own software appear genuine.

As per "2H 2009 Cyber Intelligence Report" by Cyveillance, improved technical sophistication is helping cybercriminals garner higher success, thus attacking more industries.

According to MessageLabs (now part of Symantec), a newly launched personalized e-mail attack is posing as a message from the New York Times (NYT). The attack was tracked at MessageLabs on February 24, 2010.
