According to the statement published on April 3, 2008 by ChannelWeb, Microsoft announced that it is planning to launch eight security patches to fix holes in its Internet Explorer (IE) and Windows Operating System (OS). The announcement was made in advance before the scheduled release of Microsoft's monthly "Patch Tuesday" on April 8, 2008.

According to the statement published on April 3, 2008 by ChannelWeb, Microsoft announced that it is planning to launch eight security patches to fix holes in its Internet Explorer (IE) and Windows Operating System (OS). The announcement was made in advance before the scheduled release of Microsoft's monthly "Patch Tuesday" on April 8, 2008.

Microsoft is patching eight holes out of which three are "important" and five are "critical". These flaws are found almost in every version of Microsoft's OS, such as Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 and IE.

Almost every version of Microsoft OS, including Windows Server 2008, the latest server OS, and Service Pack 1 for Vista, will be affected by the critical Windows updates which will be released on April 8, 2008.

In the news published on April 3, 2008 by COMPUTERWORLD, nCircle Network Security Inc's Director of Security Operations, Andrew Storms, said that the coming critical Windows updates proves to be bad bug for the system.

About five patches are taken as critical as they plug the flaws through which remote code can be executed. Remotely exploitable flaws refers to those holes which a malware writer can use to crash system availability with the help of Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks, target worms, or install any software to have control over the un-patched system.

Moreover, Microsoft is also planning to release three security bulletins covering the important vulnerabilities which will allow the hackers to fool and to gain unauthorized privileges to various versions of Microsoft Windows. This will also enable them to execute the fake code with the help of the errors present in MS Office system.

Microsoft has also planned to organize Webcast to answer the queries of the users about various updates on April 9, 2008. The forms for online registration are made available to the users.

Microsoft also informed that a user can find security updates from Download Centre of Microsoft after conducting a keyword search.

Patch Tuesday will be released on April 8, 2008 with annual RSA Conference in San Francisco. According to the news published on April 4, 2008 by SCMAGAZINE, Andrew Storms called security update will be an important topic for the conference.
