On No.2 was "Trojan-Spy.Win32.Zbot.gen" a data-stealing malware that captures cached passwords and login credentials to access banking websites. Sunbelt detected that this Trojan climbed from its fifth place during May 2010. Further, it accounted for 4.68% of the total malicious programs during June 2010.

Meanwhile, Sunbelt's malware list for June 2010 also features Worm.Win32.Downad.Gen (v) or Conficker on the tenth spot with detection rate of 1.02%. This variant (Downadup) of Conficker similar to the virus' first version, proliferates throughout a computer network via the exploitation of security flaw in Windows Server service. With the help of file sharing, it executes remote code.

Commenting on these developments, Tom Kelchner, Research Center Manager at Sunbelt, stated that despite Trojans still dominates the Top Ten malware for June 2010, the list showed some Interesting trends. For example, there was a new surge of Conficker infections, indicating that this harmful malicious program back again, as reported by Sourcewire on July 6, 2010.

Furthermore, Sunbelt found new malicious programs of other kinds during June 2010. Occupying the 7the spot was "Trojan.ASF.Wimad (v)" at 1.13%. It is a few Trojanized Windows media files zipped together. Once unzipped within Windows Media Player, this malware makes the browser open a website that distributes malevolent files. Sunbelt states that this threat grew when video downloads increased in connection with the FIFA World Cup during June 2010.

Another new entrant to feature the June 2010 List of ten most prevalent malware threats was Packed.Win32.Tdss.q (v), a TDSS Rootkit. Occupying position No.6, this malware contributed 1.34% of all detections.

Finally, 'INF.Autorun (v)' (4.05%), 'Trojan.Win32.Generic.pak!cobra' (2.58%) and 'BehavesLike.Win32.Malware (v)' (1.48%) entered the Top Ten Malware List at 3rd, 4th and 5th ranks respectively.
